Irvines Botswana’s Breeder Farm is situated near Francistown where our Cobb breeders are reared under strict environmental and bio-security controls. The birds are then moved to production houses which are fully environmentally controlled. At 27 weeks the birds begin to produce hatching eggs which are graded and sent to the hatchery for setting and production of broiler day-old chicks. Access to the farm is strictly controlled to essential personnel only, with Cobb-Vantress and Cobb Africa providing valuable technical support to ensure excellent production results of the highest quality eggs.
Irvines is one of the largest producers of day-old chicks in Botswana with the hatchery situated in Francistown. Eggs are transported in refrigerated vehicles from the farm to the hatchery. The fully air-conditioned hatchery then utilizes the latest cutting-edge technology to ensure the highest quality chicks are produced.
Day-old chicks are transported to customers in specially designed temperature controlled chick trucks so that chicks reach the customer’s doorstep in superb condition.
